AMSOIL Arenacross, “The Most Intense Racing on the Planet,” brings a new look and feel, along with heart-pounding levels of energy, to the country’s most well known arenas in 2016. The championship will visit 14 cities across 13 different states in its season-long journey to crown a champion, who will be awarded the new and prestigious Ricky Carmichael Cup, named after racing legend and Hall of Fame competitor Ricky Carmichael.

On Saturday, February 20, these fearless warriors of dirt will make their anticipated return to Tampa and Amalie Arena for one night of action-packed excitement. AMSOIL Arenacross embodies the competitive spirit and physical challenge of motocross, but squeezes 16 gallons of riders into 6 gallons of track, resulting in a full-contact, white-knuckle battle for the championship. The no-holds-barred, win-at-all-costs mentality that it takes to be successful on the man-made dirt battlefields built inside arenas across the country results in hard-earned, hugely satisfying wins and even more fulfilling championships. To win in AMSOIL Arenacross a rider needs to be prepared for war, where he will face the dramatic ups and downs of battle, with a necessity to maintain the mental fortitude of a fighter that refuses to quit.
AMSOIL Arenacross personifies the term “controlled chaos,” and the intimate confines of the arena provide the ideal setting for an unparalleled experience that can’t be duplicated anywhere else. While the exceptional talents of the championship’s athletes is sure to keep fans on the edge of their seats all night long, the addition of renowned music artist and producer DJ KO will build on the energy induced atmosphere that has become synonymous with AMSOIL Arenacross. The ACM-nominated DJ and RIAA Certified Platinum producer will complement the all-new look of AMSOIL Arenacross as it intensifies the combination of sport and entertainment like never before.
DJ KO's hard-hitting beats will provide the perfect platform for the excitement and drama produced on the track. DJ KO is part of AMSOIL Arenacross' commitment to an enhanced fan experience, combining the intensity of a nightclub with the world's most intense form of racing, setting the stage for a heart-pumping, energy-fueled spectacle. As the music builds the level of energy from the crowd, the showcase of non-stop action from the world’s best riders battling mere inches apart, flying upwards of 30 feet in the air, will undoubtedly bring the arena full tilt.
The Amalie Arena floor will be covered in nearly half a millions pounds of dirt (170 truckloads), which will ultimately transform into the awe-inspiring stage on which these modern-day gladiators will wage a war of man, machine and the will to win. In AMSOIL Arenacross the difference between winning and losing boils down to courage, confidence and a willingness to lay it all on the line. It’s the UFC of motocross; there’s simply no room for error here.
